The Biggest Stolen/Moved Artefacts
The Pergamon Altar. Built in the 2nd century BC at Bergama, Turkey. It's around 36 m wide by 34 m deep ,basically the size of a basketball court.
It was dismantled between 1878 and 1886 and shipped to Berlin, where it now fills a whole wing of the Pergamonmuseum.
I roughly drew its true footprint back onto the acropolis. It's hard to call it "moved" when you see the scale. It was cut out of a hillside.
